Although it is one of the state's smallest natural arches, Raven Rock Arch boasts the most scenic location of them all. Found high atop a cliff of Mississippian sandstone capping a 500 foot (150m) high bluff, the arch opens out onto a spectacular view of the Ohio River valley.
This natural feature is named for Raven Rock, a projection of the same cliff said to represent the beak of a large bird formed by the body of the bluff. Raven Rock Arch is a thin remnant of stone 14 inches (35cm) wide at its narrowest point and 15 feet (4.6m) long.
